Legal Task Manager Overview

Once you've completed your Legal Audit, the Legal Task Manager will show you your custom, prioritized list of legal tasks. This task list is the core of this feature; it's where you'll manage your legal tasks going forward to ensure your business is protected. Here's what the page will look like when you first land on it:

This page can be divided into two main areas: the Legal Task Manager Navigation Bar and the Legal Task Table. Here's an overview of each section.

Legal Task Manager Navigation Bar

At the top of this page, you'll find the tools to navigate within the Task Manager and filter your results.

The "Update Audit" button on the left side allows you to access the Legal Audit to change your answers. You'll use this feature as your business evolves.

You'll find three options on the right side to help you sort and filter your answers.

First, you can either show or hide your completed tasks. By default, the system will hide tasks marked as completed or dismissed, but you can change that default setting by clicking the "Show Completed" link. If you click that link, your completed tasks will show in the table below, and the text will change to "Hide Completed," so you can change back to the default at any time.

Second, you can filter by priority level. Each task falls into three priority levels: Highest-Priority, Elevated-Priority, and Standard-Priority. You can filter your results by priority level. For more information about priority levels, check out this article.

Finally, you can filter by status. Like traditional task management software, the Legal Manager allows you to assign statuses to your tasks. The five statuses are To Do, In Progress, Do Later, Dismissed, and Completed. You can filter your tasks by any of these statuses. For more information about how to manage your tasks with status, check out this article.

Legal Task Table

Below the navigation bar, you'll find the Legal Task Table:

This is where you'll find the legal tasks you must complete to protect your business. The tasks are grouped by Status. When you first visit the Legal Task Manager, all tasks are categorized as "To Do." As you complete certain tasks and begin to use the statuses, your Legal Task Table might start to look more like this:

Each row represents a task; you'll see the title, priority level, and status dropdown.

A Quick Note About The Order. Within each status table, your tasks are ordered by their priority, and this goes beyond the priority level. While tasks are grouped into three priority levels, our system has assigned an individual priority score for each task based on a proprietary formula. While some tasks have the same score, this generally means that the top task on your list is the one our system considers the highest priority based on our formula.

To get more detail on an individual task, click on the description, and a popup will appear showing (1) the task name, (2) the task description, and (3) a linked button (if there is a link associated with the task):

Within the pop-up window, you'll also have the option to manage the task status.
